Supercharger Oil Cooler

The Rotrex based supercharger system uses a self contained oiling system for lubrication and cooling.  I originally placed the aluminum finned reservoir in front of the radiator hoping that this would provide sufficient cooling.  On short tracks, the temperatures were OK but testing on a longer track last year with long periods of sustained wide open throttle led to temperatures approaching maximum safe temps.  To address this, I’m adding an oil cooler located behind the front brake duct opening.  An aluminum shroud was fabricated to ensure all air passes through the cooler.  Stainless steel wire mesh was placed between the duct and the cooler to prevent damage to the fins.  To promote flow through the cooler, vents were cut and formed into the plastic wheel well liner.

Also made for a perfect AMB transponder location.  Transponder was hardwired.
